Avril (Sophie Quinton) coule une existence paisible et pieuse dans le couvent de religieuses où on l’abandonna à la naissance. La blanche jeune fille se promène candidement dans ce sombre univers, s’accordant occasionnellement le pêché de dessiner des fleurs dans un cahier. Au moment d’entamer une retraite purificatrice, elle apprend l’existence de son frère jumeau et se lance clandestinement à sa recherche. C’est le début d’une grande escapade qui la mènera sur une plage de Camargue où elle rencontrera la vie et perdra la tête. Encouragée par son frère gai (Clément Sibony) et son copain, ainsi que par un vendeur de peinture tout droit sorti d’un compte de fée (Nicholas Duvauchelle), Avril n’hésitera pas un instant à expérimenter un nouveau style de vie. En quelques jours, la jeune nonne passe de la soutane à la robe yéyé, se met à boire à la bouteille, à se baigner nue dans la mer et à se peinturer les seins en rose.
