Michel, un jeune musicien, vient de passer son concours au conservatoire de Paris. Ce matin du 6 Juin 1944, les alliés debarquent en Normandie. Michel et sa mère doivent rejoindre St-Lo où se trouve leur famille. A Paris, Ils apprennent que les communications avec la côte sont coupées. Ils rencontrent Yvette qui va les aider à s'y rendre.
