One of cinema's greatest achievements. The film is an incredible experience. The fact that you spend almost two hours watching the figure of someone buried under sheets and that we are intrigued by every second of it, testifies to the genius of the film. It's sad that most people remember this movie as the one Metallica made a video for. No offense to the band, but this JGHG is far more important than that. Dalton Trumbo's only directorial effort and it is flawless. The majority of the film is told in a voiceover and like quot;Twelve Angry Menquot; every thing takes place in one room. Prepare to be amazed.

Film d’auteur : Dalton Trumbo a réalisé avec 'Johnny s'en va-t-en guerre' son seul et unique film. En effet, il est écrivain et scénariste et ce film est en fait l'adaptation de son livre éponyme publié en 1939. Dalton Trumbo, écrivain et scénariste, a écrit pour les plus grands réalisateurs.

Récompenses : Lors du Festival de Cannes 1971, 'Johnny s'en va-t-en guerre' a remporté le Prix de la critique internationale mais également le Grand Prix spécial du jury, ex-aequo avec 'Taking off' de Milos Forman.

Synopsis : Durant la Première Guerre mondiale, un jeune soldat est blessé par une mine : il a perdu ses bras, ses jambes et toute une partie de son visage. Il ne peut ni parler, ni entendre, ni sentir mais reste conscient. Dans la chambre d'un hopîtal, il tente de communiquer et se souvient de son histoire.
Chef-d'oeuvre inévitable... le film culte..
