[1982] No Life 'til Leather
No Life 'til Leather is Metallica's widely circulated demo tape featuring Dave Mustaine on lead guitar. All the tracks are early recordings of songs that would later appear on the band's Kill 'Em All album. The track listing on Kill 'Em All is the same as that on the demo tape, save the addition of Cliff Burton's bass solo (Anesthesia) Pulling Teeth, Whiplash, No Remorse and The Mechanix (The Mechanix was re-written by Metallica as The Four Horsemen).

[1986] Master Of Puppets
Master of Puppets is the third studio album by American heavy metal band Metallica. The album was recorded in 1985 and released by Elektra Records on March 3, 1986 in North America.

Now widely considered a classic of thrash metal, the album proved to be a modest commercial success upon its release by reaching #29 on the U.S. Billboard 200, making it the very first thrash metal album to crack the Top 40. With the band's rising popularity from the release of Metallica, awareness of the album has increased, and according to the RIAA, it has sold over six million copies in the U.S. alone. It was the last album the band recorded with bass player Cliff Burton, who died in a tour bus crash six months after it was released.

[1987] Garage Days - Re-Revisited
The $5.98 E.P.: Garage Days Re-Revisited is an EP released by the American heavy metal band Metallica in August 1987. It is to be considered an official release, as opposed to Garage Inc., a compilation.
Although the EP is often referred to as Garage Days by fans, the trailing portion of the EPs full title is often mistakenly called Garage Days Revisited (rather than 'Re-Revisited'), a title which actually refers collectively to Metallica's cover versions of Am I Evil? and Blitzkrieg, which were the two B-sides of the 1984 single Creeping Death.

[1988] And Justice For All
Â…And Justice for All, the group's first studio album since Burton's death, was released in 1988. The album was a commercial success, peaking at number six on the Billboard 200, the band's first album to enter the top 10. The album was certified platinum nine weeks after its release. Newsted's bass was purposely turned down on the album as a part of the continuous hazing he received, and his musical ideas were ignored (However, he did receive a writing credit on track one, Blackened). There were complaints with the production; namely, Steve Huey of Allmusic noted Ulrich's drums were clicking more than thudding, and the guitars buzz thinly. The Damaged Justice tour followed to promote the album.

[1991] Metallica (the black album)
In October 1990, Metallica entered One on One studio in North Hollywood to record its next album. Bob Rock, who had worked with the bands The Cult, Bon Jovi, and Mötley Crüe, was hired as producer. Metallica (also known as The Black Album) was remixed three times, cost $1 million, and ended three marriages. Although the release was stalled until 1991, Metallica debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 with shipments exceeding 650,000 units in its first week. The album was responsible for bringing Metallica to the attention of the mainstream and has been certified 15 times platinum in the United States, which makes it the 25th highest-selling album in the country.

[1993] Live s**t - Binge and Purge
Live s**t: Binge Purge is Metallica's first live album, released in 1993. It contains three CDs and three VHS tapes, while a newer version contains two DVDs from concerts in San Diego (on the Wherever We May Roam Tour) and Seattle (on the Damaged Justice Tour) and also includes three CDs with songs from a concert in Mexico City. It was originally released as a cardboard box depicting the style of a typical tour equipment transport box. Besides the audio and video media, the box featured additional bonus material (booklet showing a multitude of photos, typical tour correspondence as sent and received by the band and their management, and internal documents and handwritten notes; a recreated copy of an access pass to the Snakepit part of the tour stage; a cardboard drawing/airbrush stencil for the Scary Guy logo).

It's been certified 15x Platinum by the RIAA as a long-form video format.

[1996] Load
Load is the sixth studio album by American heavy metal band Metallica, released June 4, 1996. According to drummer Lars Ulrich: this album and what we're doing with it - that, to me, is what Metallica are all about: exploring different things. The minute you stop exploring, then just sit down and f**king die.

To date, the album has sold over 5 million copies in America, and is certified Gold in the UK, having sold over 100,000 copies. It spent four consecutive weeks at #1 on Billboard 200.
