This is a lottle known album that will interest UK psych fans,this was released in "69 and features a stew of sounds from Psych,Prog,Pop and folky arrangements,this album starts off in blistering fashion with"Ride with Captain Max"the first minute and a half of this track is just awesome,starts of as a real heavy psycher but goes all accoustic like in the middle section which then goes into heavy territory again with heavy organ and guitar....what a way to start an album,this is followed by "Spinning Wheel"a great piece of eastern infused pop/psych,this is replete with some marvellous sitar on a track that chugs along rather nicely,next up is a cover of Incredible String Bands"No Sleep Blues"this version is a rather neat job but is more rocky than folky,"Goodbye"is a rather pleasant piece of pop replete with some yummy harpsichord,"I Need My Friend"is just a top piece of psych with excellent fuzzed up guitar featuring all through it with a catchy piano part,"Mother Earth"is in the folk rock vein but still rather good,next up is a brilliant version of The Beatles"Eleanor Rigby"with excellent brass and accoustic guitar parts,splendid version,"Conversationally Making The Grade"is a piece of swinging and groovy pop/psych,with groovy organ runs,"Regency"is a lovely piece of baroque like pop replete with harpsichord and accoustic guitar,"Island On an Island"is an accoustic folk number,replete with some nice woodwind instrumentation,"Don't be too long"again is an accoustic based track veering towards folk,with pleasant vocals,the final track of the original album"Jeanette Isabella"is a rather melancholic piece of progressive pop with swirling organ playing in the background,on the cd issue there's 2 bonus tracks which were non album sides,"All Day All Night"is a marvellous piece of folky psych,again embellished with loads of sitar slightly similar to "Spinning Wheel"and the cd finishes off with"Country Life"is a rather good piece of popsike leanings mixed with a folky vibe.
