These are the 2 DVDs from the Album Version 3 of the 2006 concert incl. interview and some other stuff (it was the "On An Island"-tour, recorded live infront of 50,000 people at the shipyards in Gdansk, Poland, for the last date on David's 2006 Summer Tour, which was the only occasion on which David performed the tour material with an orchestra, using the 40-strong string section of the Polish Baltic Philharmonic Orchestra; including the Gdansk' concert, the 'Gdansk Diary' documentary, additional live performances & more;).

Das Doppel-Livealbum 'David Gilmour Live In Gdansk', produziert von David Gilmour und Phil Manzanera, dokumentiert das Konzert in Danzig und zeigt einen Musiker und seine Band auf dem Höhepunkt ihrer künstlerischen Leistung. Die sechsköpfige Band wird zum einzigen Mal während der gesamten "On An Island" Tour von einem Orchester unterstützt, nämlich von 40 Streichern des Sinfonieorchesters der Baltischen Philharmonie unter der Leitung von Zbigniew Preisner, der auch für die Orchesterarrangements von David Gilmours Nummer-1-Album "On An Island" verantwortlich zeichnete. Zum ersten Mal werden hier die Pink-Floyd-Hits "High Hopes" und "A Great Day For Freedom" mit Orchester eingespielt, wobei letzteres als Ausnahme nur für das Solidarnosc-Konzert aufgeführt wurde.

Gilmour wurde bei diesem historischen Konzert von weltberühmten Musikern unterstützt:
Richard Wright - Pink Floyds Keyboarder
Phil Manzanera - Roxy-Music-Gitarrist und Koproduzent von "On An Island"
Guy Pratt - Bassist bei Pink Floyd und Roxy Music
Jon Carin - Keyboarder, der lange Zeit bei Pink Floyd spielte
Steve Di Stanislao - Drummer, der in jüngster Zeit mit Crosby and Nash gespielt hat
Dick Parry - Saxophonist und langjähriger Mitarbeiter von Pink Floyd.

Die zweieinhalbstündige DVD, die das Livealbum flankiert, entstand unter der Regie von Gavin Elder. Stimmungsvoll setzt die DVD das Konzert in Szene, porträtiert die dramatische urbane Landschaft der Werft mit ihren vielen, die Skyline bestimmenden Kränen. Hoch über der Bühne waren an zwei gigantischen Kränen sechs 16 Tonnen schwere Monitore angebracht, die für jeweils einen Musiker bestimmt waren und zusätzlich in einem Kaleidoskop von Farben und Laserstrahlen aufleuchteten, die der renommierte Lichtdesigner Marc Brickman entworfen hatte. Neben einem 113-minütigen Konzertmitschnitt enthält die DVD zudem eine fesselnde 36-minütige Dokumentation, die Gilmours private Unterredung mit dem Ex-Ministerpräsidenten Lech Walesa sowie Gespräche von Crew und Bandmitgliedern zeigt.
