Introduction

Final Fantasy VIII (often abbreviated or FFVIII FF8) was developed by Squaresoft in 1999 for the PlayStation, but later came a PC version. FFVIII is the eighth installment of the Final Fantasy series and is considered one of the most important role games for PlayStation. Indeed, it has been the best selling video game for PlayStation.

The protagonist of the story is leonheart Squall, a student of Balamb Garden (military academy), who has just graduated as SeeD (mecenario) and must carry out missions assigned to it.

It's set in a futuristic world, although like all Final Fantasy, retains some medieval reminiscences. For example, the weapon of the protagonist is a fusion between sword and gun, we can use magic, etc..

The game's story revolves around Edea, a witch who is controlling the president of Galbadia to attack neighboring countries. Therefore, many groups rise up resistance against such invasions, including the Forest Owls, which the leader is Rinoa Heartilly, a young woman who falls in love with Squall.

Later it is known that Edea is just a puppet of the real enemy, Ultimecia / Artemisia, a witch from the future that seeks to dominate the world by controlling the past several witches, among them the same Adel and Rinoa. So to stop it, Squall and his group of Seeds with the help of a kind of temporal vortex will travel to face the future Artemis.

Besides the main story of Squall, we will find the history of Laguna, a story that will live through the dreams of Squall and his companions, and the game advanced to meet in person Laguna older.

Final Fantasy VIII is an RPG (role playing game) Japanese, with a turn-based combat system. In a battle we can handle up to three characters. The scenarios are rendered funds, while objects are 3D models. The system is called ATB (Active Time Battle), and Spanish was translated as BTC (Continuous-Time Battle), which is that each player has a bar that fills in some time, and when full, can perform an action. Every time you perform an action, the bar is empty to refill, and so on throughout the battle. This bar therefore represents the speed of the character, the faster you fill, the faster.
The story is linear but there are many submissions and isolated stories. The dialogues do not have voices, although the game is fully translated into Castilian.
As in all RPGs, we gain experience that enhances our abilities and attributes. However, this Final Fantasy has a feature that sets it apart from the rest of the series: we can bind the magic to our attributes, and as amended. For example, if we bind the magic attribute revitalize our vitality, we see that the points of life of our character are greatly increased.
Typical invocations in this release are known as Guardian Forces (GF's), in Spain translated as Guardians of the Force. As with magic, we can bind the GF's to our characters to give them new skills.
It has also built a mini game of cards, the Triple Triad (Triple Triad), which has proved quite popular among fans of the saga.
System requirements

The minimum system requirements to run FINAL FANTASY VIII PC are:

Computer: Intel or 100% compatible with Intel.

CPU: With 3D accelerator: Pentium 200MHz or equivalent
(Pentium II 266MHz recommended).
Without 3D accelerator (with software rendering):
Pentium II 266MHz.

Graphics card: 8 Mb Direct3Dy compatible 3D accelerator with 3D acceleration hardware. SVGA graphics card, 4 MB for software rendering.

Sound Card: Sound card compatible with DirectMusic and DirectSound.

CD-ROM: 8x CD-ROM

Memory: 32 MB RAM (64 MB recommended)

DirectX: You need to have Microsoft DirectX 6.1 or later to play Final Fantasy VIII PC. DirectX 6.1 is included on the installation CD.

Hard drive space: FINAL FANTASY VIII PC needs a minimum of 300 MB of hard disk space for installation. Furthermore, players can choose to install additional data files of the game, which will improve the speed of screen transitions. However, it took another 300 extra Mb. The player will also need enough disk space for file storage and sharing items with Windows.
