Liverpool's King's Dock on July 19, 2003 was the venue for a long awaited and much anticipated reunion between Eric Clapton and John Mayall the Bluesbreakers. The occasion was both a celebration of John Mayall's 70th year and a fundraiser for UNICEF. Also invited to the party were former Bluesbreaker and Rolling Stone Mick Taylor and veteran trombonist Chris Barber. If you're a lover of the blues it doesn't get much better than this. The show ran for around two and a half hours and the film is now presented here in its entirety for the first time. .

John Mayall:
John Mayall was born November 29, 1933 in Meklsfilde, Cheshire in the family of Murray Mayall, a guitarist and jazz fanatic. From an early age John became interested in music of American bluesmen (Leadbelly, Albert Ammons, Payntop Smith, Eddie Lang), taught himself to play piano, guitar and harmonica. In the years 1949-1951 Mayall studied at Manchester College of Art (it's allowed him to subsequently arrange their own cover some of their albums), and in the years 1951-1954 he served in the British Army, taking part in the Korean conflict. The theme of war later became one of the key in his creativity. In 1956-1962 years Meyol participated in the groups The Powerhouse Four and The Blues Syndicate, combining music lessons with a career professional designer.
In 1963 Meyol with the active participation of Alexis Korner's moved to London and established a group of John Mayall's Bluesbreakers. With the arrival of a group of Eric Clapton and the creation of a hit first album, Blues Breakers with Eric Clapton (1966) The Bluesbreakers began the ascent to fame. Clapton's guitar on this album is recognized by critics as one of the most sincere periods of his creativity. In the next album A Hard Road (1967) has replaced Eric Clapton, Peter Green, had added to the music of different sound Bluesbreakers (closer to the Chicago blues) because of its distinctive style of guitar playing. The third album Bluesbreakers Crusade (1967) has already received the free pass guitar Mick Taylor, who later, as a guitarist, replaced in the Rolling Stones Brian Jones. [1] Among the other famous musicians who collaborated with Mayall, John McVie were, Mick Fleetwood, Jack Bruce, Don Shugakeyn Harris, Larry Taylor, John Hayzman, Dick Hextall Smith, Andy Fraser, Johnny Almond, Coco Montoya, Buddy Whittington.


In the late 70's Meyol moved to the city of Laurel Canyon, California, and gradually came to his work electrician from traditional blues, to enrich his music jazz, funk, pop elements. In 1982, he again gathered Bluesbreakers with Mick Taylor, John McVie, Colin Allen and spent a short tour. A year later, in composed of guitarists Walter Trout and Coco Montoya, bassist Bobby Haynes and drummer Joe Yyul. In 2003, the first formulations of many musicians returned to the group again - to give a concert to commemorate the 70 th anniversary of John Meyola.
