Released in 1985 on EMI, Kim Carnes' Barking at Airplanes produced the hit "Crazy in the Night," which reached No. 15 on the Pop Singles Chart. The second single, "Abadabadango," peaked at No. 67 on the Pop Singles Chart. With Kim, Bill Cuomo, and Duane Hitchings on board as producers and featuring appearances by Lindsey Buckingham, Ry Cooder, James Ingram, and Martha Davis of the Motels, the album reached No. 48 on the Pop Albums Chart.

Barking at Airplanes was released on CD in Japan during the 80's and reissued on CD in the US with bonus tracks in 2001. Sadly, it is now out of print worldwide.
