Mambo and Bling is a special, limited-edition 7" vinyl single released by Nonesuch in July 2008. It is the first recorded music from Laurie Anderson's latest project Homeland.

About the Album from www.nonesuch.com For much of 2008, Laurie Anderson has been touring the world with her latest performance piece, Homeland. Mambo and Bling, now available as a 7" vinyl single, is the first recorded music from the project to be released. The disc comes in a plain white sleeve with a thumbnail of the instantly recognizable silhouette above printed on the label. An album of music from Homeland is due to be released by Nonesuch Records in 2009. The single's B-side, Behind the Screen, comes from the short film Hidden Inside Mountains, written and directed by Laurie Anderson. The film debuted in Japan at EXPO 2005 and was an official selection at the Locarno, Toronto, Edinburgh, Telluride, Montreal, Prague, and Tribeca film festivals. It is a film of short stories about nature, artifice, and dreams; its haunting music features violins, bells, dog barks, and melody as well as Anderson's signature electronic sounds.

This is for Laurie Anderson fans: the first track is spoken word delivered in Laurie's male "voice of authority", and the second track is a short instrumental thing.
