This was posted before as an mp3 by v4v; here’s the lossless version. I was particularly lucky today to be the very first person to borrow this from my hometown library, so its quality is perfect.

I wouldn’t know what to add to v4v’s excellent introductions to his Misia uploads, other than repeat a couple of my replies to his posts (good gods, now I’m actually quothing myself – am I getting narcistic or just lazy):

“What I like about her is that versatile voice. It can be velvety sweet, and next, hard and brilliant as steel. A remarkably powerful instrument; it could do no harm if some of those R & B starlets took one or two singing lessons from her.
Further, I think you hit the nail on the head: sophistication. If anyone of the current voices in Fado's going to take the genre into the future, it's she. There's more about her art than just couleur locale, so to say.
She (…)is one of those rare artists who know how to DO something with the musical tradition they grew up in, they aren't mere exponents of it - they develop the genre, adapt it to more modern standards, thus handing it down to the next generations”
