Oud master and composer extraordinaire Rabih Abou-Khalil is having a busy time this year. Not only is he touring to present recent CD releases "Songs for Sad Women" and "Em Portugês," he also gives several concerts with the quintet featured in this recording, and still manages to fit in the occasional solo performance. (His oud solo performance in Brussels on June 14th, as part of the Festival de Wallonie can be found here.)
