Solange Piaget Knowles [born June 24th 1986 in Houston, Texas], professionally known as Solange, is an American actress, pop and soul singer, songwriter, producer, model, and dancer. She is also the younger sister of R&B singer Beyonce Knowles. Managed by her father Matthew, Knowles broke into music business in 2001 with an appearance on Destiny's Child's 2001 holiday album '8 Days Of Christmas', providing vocals for the tracks 'Little Drummer Boy' and 'Proud Family'. The following year she was featured on Lil Romeo's second studio album 'Game Time' [2002], singing portions of Luther Vandross-penned 'So Amazing' on the single 'True Love', and on Kelly Rowland's solo album 'Simply Deep' [2002], for which she penned the title song. 'Solo Star', her debut album released on January 21st 2003 in the States, where it debuted at number 49 on the Billboard 200 and number 23 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, selling 112,000 copies domestically.

'Sol-Angel And The Hadley St. Dreams' is the second studio album by American pop and soul singer-songwriter Solange Knowles, released on August 18th 2008 in the United Kingdom and on August 26th 2008 in North America. As her first album in five years, Knowles was heavily influenced by the Motown sound of the 1960s and 1970s during the creation of the album, prompting her to work with several vintage style producers and songwriters such as Cee-Lo Green and Mark Ronson and former Holland–Dozier–Holland legend Lamont Dozier. Exploring the lyrical theme of independence, it also includes hints of downbeat and electronic music that Knowles had discovered on previous trips to Europe. Following its release, the album debuted at No.9 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart with sales of about 46,000 copies and has since sold 90,000 copies.
