Upon arriving in exotic Rio, long time friends Matthew and Victor and their teenage daughters barely unpack before this infamous pleasure spot begins to cast its torrid spell. Matthew quickly succumbs to Cupid's arrow, but when guilt gets the better of this married man, he vows to end the affair and keep it a secret... even from Victor. But as his white lies grow, so does his libido, and Matthew continues his indiscretions…until his wife shows up!
Matthew y Victor son dos amigos que se van juntos de vacaciones a Rio de Janeiro, llevando consigo a sus dos hijas adolescentes. Una vez instalados en RÃo, la hija de Victor, seduce a Matthew.
Blame it on Rio is the American remake of the French movie, “Un moment D'Egarement.†Michael Caine plays a man on holiday in Rio with his best friend (Joseph Bologna). Both men have teenage daughters with them.
When Caine falls for the amorous daughter (played by Michelle Johnson) of his best friend, they embark on a secret, if slightly one-sided relationship. Johnson's father is furious when he finds out about the 'older man' in his daughter's life, and sets out to hunt him down with the aid of Caine!
A very young Demi Moore also stars in this mid-80's comedy.

Donen hizo una versión personal de la pelÃcula francesa "Un moment d'égarement (1977, Claude Berri)" siguiendo las reglas de la comedia sofisticada y sentimental de Hollywood, pero con un tema más espinoso. Es la historia de dos amigos maduros, uno divorciado y el otro casado, que han decidido pasar sus vacaciones en RÃo de Janeiro con sus respectivas hijas adolescentes. Los problemas surgen cuando la hija de uno de ellos se enamora del padre de su amiga y es correspondida.
El enredo se desarrolla con la mecánica más tradicional de la seducción para lanzar su mensaje heterodoxo a favor de la permisividad (en teorÃa) del amor entre dispares en edad, dignidad y gobierno. Las adolescentes son algo conmovedoras en sus ilusiones románticas y los maduros caballeros lo son aún más al desvelar sus debilidades.
Sin embargo, Donen trata sabiamente de evitar el tono moralizante para quedarse con la reivindicación festiva de RÃo, con el buen humor del atribulado Michael Caine y con la frescura de las adolescentes.
