In der namibischen Kalahari-WÃ¼ste lebt eine ErdmÃ¤nnchen-Familie. Kolo, ein kleines Junges, kommt zur Welt und wird fortan an der Seite seines Bruders die Umgebung erforschen. Nach seinen ersten Schritten in der ErdmÃ¤nnchen-HÃ¶hle wagt er bald einen ersten Ausflug ans Tageslicht, wo er einige spannende Abenteuer bestehen muss. AuÃŸerdem lernt er, sich vor Feinden wie Adlern, Schlangen und LÃ¶wen zu schÃ¼tzen. Am liebsten aber bleibt er bei seiner Sippe. Ganz im Stile des Erfolgsfilms "Die Reise der Pinguine" erzÃ¤hlt der britische Tierfilmer James Honeyborne mit Hilfe eines ErdmÃ¤nnchens eine Geschichte Ã¼ber das Erwachsenwerden.
