Sevdah u novom "ruhu". Rock kao muzicki pravac nije u potpunosti izostavljen, ali je fuzija sevdaha sa zvucima jazz-a, tanga, orijentalne i pop muzike, dobila epitet tradicionalno-modernog izraza...


Urban Sevdah Bend from Visoko, BiH, was formed in September 2005. Band rehearsals began in October 2005, while the first public performance was in Visoko in May 2006. Urban Sevdah Bend was not created with a mission, because we are not professionals, we are amateurs and the meaning of this word is justified by our love towards Sevdah and Sevdalinka. We perform Sevdalinkas, Bosnian love songs, because we like to fall in love. We mixed traditional with modern, remaining firmly on the foundations of the traditional Bosnian song while taking an excursion into the sphere of compactible sounds of Rock, Jazz, Tango and partly Oriental sounds of which influences we are well aware and embrace them, because only through diversity can we be distinguished from the mass. We represent urban Sevdah, which is in opposition to rural. We want to bring Sevdalinka closer to the young and leave a mark that we have been here and that we have managed to leave something beautiful behind.
