characterize the 8th Annual Pickathon, which occurred on August 4th and 5th
2006.
On this year's CD we bring you 16 hand selected performances that allow you to
bear witness to a musical movement that is continuing to make its mark on the
national landscape.
Performer's Include Martha Scanlan, Greg Brown, Darol Anger, The Earl Brothers,
The Wood Brothers, Little Sue, Kris Delmhorst, Stairwell Sisters, Packaway
Handle Band, The Avett Brothers, The Wilders, Danny Barnes Collective, Wailin'
Jennys, The Everybody Fields, Juanita Family Band, and Trash Can Joe.
The creative nexus for the Pickathon continues to be the
Portland music scene with contributing help from like minds all around the
country. Portland's unique mix of small to medium musical venues continues to
allow a diverse group of musicians to follow their instincts while growing a
dedicated following in the community.
The Pickathon takes place each year sometime in August just outside of
Portland.
